Cape Tribulation
This is the only place in the world where two UNESCO World Heritage sites collide: the vibrant marine life of the Great Barrier Reef and the prehistoric beauty of the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest tropical rainforest on the planet.
Start your adventure by winding through dense jungle roads, then step onto untouched beaches where the rainforest spills straight onto the sand. Hike under ancient canopies, cross jungle boardwalks, and cool off in crystal-clear creeks like Emmagen or Mason’s.
Wildlife lovers can spot cassowaries, tree frogs, and even crocodiles during a mangrove cruise, while snorkelling tours offer access to pristine outer reef sites just offshore. For those craving cultural depth, guided tours with Indigenous Kuku Yalanji elders provide a deeper connection to the land.
Cape Tribulation is for travellers who crave raw nature, slow travel, and moments of true escape — far from city noise and tourist crowds. Whether you’re visiting on a day trip or spending a few nights beneath the stars, it’s a place that invites you to disconnect, explore deeply, and reconnect with nature.
Explore one of the only places on Earth where two World Heritage sites meet — the ancient Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.
Wander along secluded beaches, spot cassowaries in the wild, cruise through mangroves, and swim in freshwater creeks beneath lush canopies.

Your day begins with a comfortable bus ride from Cairns, heading north to the cultural heart of the region: Mossman Gorge. Then enjoy a guided walk through Mossman Gorge, where crystal-clear waters weave through towering rainforest.
Next, cruise down the Daintree River, keeping your eyes peeled for saltwater crocodiles, snakes, and vibrant birdlife. After lunch, venture into the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest tropical rainforest on Earth, on a guided bushwalk where cassowaries are often spotted in the wild.
